Footnotes

1 According to the theater and art news in the Neue freie Presse (p. 14), this "Bach Evening," with Karl Straube at the organ, took place in the Great Hall of the Musikverein. Also taking part were the singer Emmi Leisner and the choir of the Society of the Friends of Music, conducted by Franz Schalk. Schenker probably attended this concert with his pupil Robert Brünauer (see diary entry for March 28).
